We have not seen a manual like this before.
It was published for the Army Infantry Training School in 1937.
It fully describes combat deployment of squad size units including range fans for various weapons used in the squad.
Offensive and Defensive doctrine is included.
This manual shows how to employ rifles, machine guns and even anti tank weapons.
There are a couple of pull out pages showing employment doctrine as shown.
We suspect these would be used to train future non-commissioned officers and acting squad leaders. Keep in mind Japanese doctrine allowed leading privates and even superior privates to serve as squad leaders as the pool of non-commissioned officers did not keep up with the demand for qualified squad leaders.
