This unique style of tunic was authorized for wear in the Tropics, including SE Asia and the Pacific Theater.

A lightweight cotton shirt was worn underneath this tunic with the collar sticking out over the top of the tunic collar. Shirts could either be white or khaki.

This was the style worn by the fictional movie character Col. Saito in the famous movie Bridge on the River Kwai.

As shown, this has under arm vents for reducing heat in the tropical sun and jungle.

It is mostly unlined.

It has the rank of a Second Lieutenant and four brass buttons up the front.

Material is lightweight wool gaberdine.

The white geometric patch is for his name (faded).

The lining inside the front placard has a feint makers stamp.

Size is about 36.
