This is the standard World War II Japanese army pack for enlisted soldiers and NCO‘s.
On the exterior edges of the packthe shelter half blanket roll was tied.
In the center of the pack, the mess kit was attached.
These were commonly called “octopus” packs because of the many web tapes that came off the packs.
This one has a poorly done manufacturer’s mark on the inside.
