This is a pair of WW2 Japanese Army short pantaloon style tropical trousers.

This style is fairly challenging to find. They are uncommon.

These were popular amongst troops in the tropics and on jungle islands in the Pacific.

Web tapes, the same as used in helmets, are present. These wrap from the back and are tied in front.

The fly buttons are also present.

The depot markings are long faded but the name of the soldier is quite legible. His family name is Masuda, which is written in both styles of Japanese characters.
