This is a fantastic WW2 Japanese Army Soldier’s Diary written by a Japanese who could write some English, knew what he would say to a captured American, who was apparently fearful of the B29 bomber.
The diary itself is a has the Army Star on the front and the Kanji 軍手帖 which means Military Handbook.
He wrote on the cover: “Have you a watch? Yes I have a watch. Please give me your watch! [punctuation added].” Clearly he was hoping to take a watch off a POW!
He also drew many US bombers & Japanese aircraft in his diary. He seems obsessed with bombers in the act of dropping bombs.
This deserves a good translation but it seems possible he might have been involved with US POWs given the bombers?
The calendars inside include 1942 & 1943.
