When these boots left the factory in WW2, they were brown.

It was up to the Solider, SS man or Luftwaffe member to make them black or leave them brown per SOP.

This pair was blackened long ago but the color apparently did not hold.

Both soles are marked 1003 42.

These measure 11.5 inches from heel to toe.

The heel plate is marked SCHWELMA 8L as you can see.

These are unissued.
