This is the first of the kind for us.
Having collected Vietnam war militaria since the mid-1970s, we have never seen another Viet Cong recruitment poster.
Our first impression was that this is an NVA soldier based on the green uniform, the web gear and the AK-47.
However, after spending a little time with he is a 35 to 45 year old man, has thick long hair vs a military crew cut and is not wearing an NVA sun helmet or boonie hat. We conclude he is a VC Main Force soldier.
Moreover, this poster appears to be entirely hand-painted vs a mass produced printed poster with a stock number of the type we have seem on NVA Propaganda posters.
It measures approximately 30 x 21” and is printed painted on thick paper.
