VMF 232 flew F4J Phantoms out of Da Nang beginning in December, 1966. They flew for 290 consecutive days; which included 5,785 sorties. They dropped 6,221 tons of ordnance on the NVA and VC in their first RVN tour.

In March, 1969 VMF 232 redeployed to Chu Lai Airbase, RVN and supported Grunts in I Corps until late 1969.

Again, in April, 1972 they redeployed to Da Nang, RVN and then moved to Thailand where they supported ground operation in RVN and also Operation Linebacker over NVN.

VMF 232 was the last VMF to leave RVN in 1973.
