This is a nicely used Soviet M40 helmet dated 1950 and marked size 1. Size 1 is small. Size 2 is medium and Size 3 is large.

The chinstrap is secured by metal brads. In the early 1950s the Soviets began sewing the ends of the chinstrap.

The liner is made from black oilcloth.

Many WWII helmets were reworked after the war and brought back to new condition.

Because of size, used condition and 1950 date, this would be a perfect helmet for your North Korean or Viet Minh display.
