North Vietnamese Army Political Cadre’s Vietnamese Language Mao’s Little Red Book 1967

An amazing find: Mao’s Little Red Book translated into Vietnamese!

This is a pocket size book with a red plasticized cover.

The cover “trích lời của Mao chủ tịch” means “Quotes From Chairman Mao.”

This is exactly the sort of political training material  carried by NVA Political Officers in the South.

Every Company of NVA had a Political Officer also known as the Political Cadre. The Political Cadre actually outranked the Company Commander, his  military counterparts. This is true because “The Party” was superior to all organizations in the North.

Lessons in communist thinking, from Marx, Lenin, Mao & Ho Chi Minh were constantly being taught and reinforced by the NVA & VC Political Cadre.  These political sessions were required even in a combat zone so that Soldiers & Guerrillas would be “right thinking.” This book consists of 427 quotations, organized thematically into 33 chapters.  As such, The Political Cadre could pull out the book and begin a lecture at any time.

This book is 384 pages and was printed in China in 1967 for shipment to Hanoi. It says in Vietnamese that it was printed by the “Foreign Language Publishing House.”

This is a must-have for any NVA VC display as Mao’s Little Red Book is instantly recognizable.
