Traveling Propaganda teams, consisting of musicians, dancers and actors were found in all liberated zones and acted as a branch of the Communist Party.
This harmonica was either the property of such a team or was the property of an individual soldier.
This one is special in that it was made for export in East Germany and has its original case. It is marked made in the GDR. East Germany supplied AKs, SKSs, helmets, medical supplies and other material useful to the NVA & VC.
The surface rust gives away its age, but it likely would still play.
