Chinese Type 59 Makarov Holster 1959 1st Year Production with Lanyard

Here is the first year production Chinese Type 59 (Makarov) holster.

In 1959, the Chinese adopted the 9mm Makarov pistol as their Type 59 pistol. These were reserved for high ranking officers vs the Type 51 & Type 54 Tokarev, which was issued to lower ranking officers  

This holster is marked Makarov 9cm pistol holster on the top line in Chinese. The 2nd line indicates Shanghai 1959 year of production in Chinese.

Finding any first year production accessory is a coup!

It has only a partial, green, corduroy lining as you can see. In the late 1950s in early 1960s this was how the Chinese manufactured their Tokarev and Makarov holsters. Later in the 1960s, Chinese holsters were completely lined with corduroy.

Also note, there is no provision for a shoulder strap.

This holster is in excellent condition showing only storage wear.

Some Makarovs were used and captured in Vietnam.
