Chinese North Vietnamese Army Type 54 Holster 1962 Dated with Shoulder Strap & Ammo Pouch

Here is a nice 1962 production Chinese Type 54 Tokarev holster.

In 1954, the Chinese adopted the 7.62x25mm Tokarev pistol as their Type 54 pistol.  These were reserved as officer’s pistols.

This holster is marked Type 54 holster on the top line in Chinese. The 2nd line indicates Shanghai 1962 year of production in Chinese

It has only a partial corduroy lining as you can see. In the late 1950s in early 1960s this was how the Chinese manufactured their Tokarev and Makarov holsters. Later in the 1960s, Chinese holsters were completely lined with corduroy.

This holster is in excellent condition showing only storage wear.

The holster has early brass stud hardware and a galvanized wire buckle on the shoulder strap.

Although many Type 54s were used and captured in Vietnam, few survived with legible markings, especially with a 1962 date!
