The CPV used many types of submachine guns in the Korean War including the Thompson, PPsH-41 and PPs-43.  They employed a variety of canvas, leather and canvas and leather magazine pouches to carry spare magazines.  Some were worn over the shoulder and some on the chest which had shoulder straps and waist belts.
