This is one variant of the rice tube issued to every Chinese and Viet Minh soldier.
It was filled with rice and carried over both shoulder around the neck, over one shoulder or wrapped around the pack.
This one is made of loosely woven, khaki-yellow, linen, the same material we have seen on CPV uniforms.
Tie-Ties are found on each end. Loose food material inside.
