This  is the standard canteen issued to Chinese soldiers during the Korean war. It is known as the model 1950.

At the same time the Korean war was going on, the Chinese were supplying the Vietnamese this very type of canteen to fight the French Colonialists in Indochina.

This canteen is named to a Chinese soldier who wrote his name across the top retention strap.
