Named to Ishii, is this Showa 12 (1937)  “octopus”pack which was standard issue to enlisted men and NCOs throughout the Japanese Army.

This one has every strap and tie in tact. The mess kit was strapped front and center; the shelter half with blanket was rolled around the top and sides and the raincoat was strapped on top for easy access.

Nice used, salty, pack which would clean up with a soaking and wash.
