This is an original photo album with 39 unpublished photos depicting a member of the 7th Panzer Reconnaissance in Europe. The album is a fine, high quality, private purchase item with all the original photos in tact.
This unit invaded France in 1940, the USSR in 1941, occupied Vichy France and went back and fought on the Eastern Front until the end of the War at Kharkov and Kursk. They fought their way back to Germany and surrendered to the British in May 1945.
The Reconnaissance Battalion was the 37th Reconnaissance Battalion whose CO was KIA. One of the photos clearly depicts the 7th Panzer Formation sign, the Letter Y.
The same man appears in many of the photos with his rank increasing as time went along.
