WW2 US PAL Double Knife Set RH36 & RH24 with Combined Scabbards

Here’s an interesting set of World War II knives. The first one is the RH 36 Fighting knife with polished blade, stacked leather washers, with red spacers and an aluminum pommel.

The other knife is a RH 24, made in the USA, with polished blade, aluminum? handguard, aluminum pommel, with stacked leather grip and black spacers.

The Rh 36 was a very common fighting knife available during the beginning of World War II. These were available at a time prior to issuance of the key bar knife, and the M3 fighting knife. Many of these were carried to the Pacific theater as well as to the European theater.

What is most interesting about this set is that the scabbards have been sewn along the leading edge. The sewing appears to be done at the factory as all the stitching, throughout the entire scabbard, is consistent. The thread used to sew them together is the same color and wear everywhere.
