This is a rare personal effect. It consists of a wooden rectangle with a Bhuddist prayer amulet on one side and the name Iwate on the other. It is contained in a leather pouch with neck cord. This would be worn under the shirt, next to the wearer in battle as a way of warding of wounds or death.
