For every 1000 Japanese swords returned as souvenirs, perhaps only one sword belt was returned. As a result, these are very hard to find.

As you knoe, Japanese Officers carried swords in combat.

They were carried on hangers supported by very wide belts.

These belts were either leather or web belts with leather fittings.

Leather, like this one, were the early ones.
