A very rare WW1 USMC Portrait set of the same Marine including two similar images of the same Marine.  We removed the photo from the frame to check for a name of the Marine and/or the name of the studio that captured the image.

Imagine our surprise when we discovered there were actually two images of the same man held inside!  The top image shows the torso and face while the hidden image showed the man standing.

Both images are hand tinted photographs, an art form that has been long lost.  Further, the edges have hand painted patriotic motifs.

The ornate metal frame has its original domed glass.  It is incredible that the glass has remained unbroken since WWI.  Regrettably, one of the decorative floral elements of the frame has been broken off.

Each has “Artist 6″ written on the back of the images.  The frame measures XX” by XX”.

Due to the extremely fragile nature of the glass, we will take special care to pack this item to protect it.  However, there will be a slight up-charge for this service.
