An original November 15, 1940 dated photo of Hitler and Japanese Ambassador Saburo Kurusu.

From 1939 to November 1941, Kurusu was the Japanese Ambassador to Germany,

Two months before this photo, Karusua was a signator to the German, Japanese and Italian Tripartite Pact in September 1940.

About a year after this photo was taken, Kurusu was sent to Washington, DC as the Japanese Special Envoy in an attempt at a final negotiation at peace.

Kurusu subsequently appeared as the Special Envoy at the US White House on December 7, 1941 about an hour after the bombing of Pearl Harbor. He was arrested and interred until exchange for the American Ambassador.
