Super rare piece from an Enigma machine.

The knob on the right is threaded in. As you turn the knob it twists the ram coil into the black coil. These rotations bring the coils closer and lowers the resistance.

Counter clockwise turns increase the resistance.

The spirals on the input and output wire adsorb fluctuations of electricity using their own opposing fields.
