At the beginning of the Korean War the Chinese Volunteers wore simple leather belts of various styles with open face buckles.  Towards the end, as the war drug on, and old supplies were exhausted the CPV began to standards web gear, canteens, uniforms and belts.  This belt was worn as the replacement to the leather belt.

It was also issued en masse to the Viet Minh and was standard in the North Vietnamese Army until the mid 1960s.

It seems to be a larger scale copy of the typical US WWII web trouser belt. Again though, it is much wider in a nice CPV khaki brown web with painted buckle.   Another variant of this belt exists with a brown-green painted buckle.
